It is an enduring symbol of New York City and its most famous playground, Coney Island. With nearly 3 miles of sandy beaches, Coney Island's sunny skies and rolling waves make for the perfect getaway.  If being active at the beach is more your idea of fun than just catching some rays, Coney Island also offers exciting recreation opportunities.  With courts for beach volleyball, handball, and basketball as well as playgrounds and amusement rides, the beach and boardwalk can provide hours of entertainment.

Deno's Wonderwheel Amusement Park
  It is a centerpiece in Coney Island, and its rides and attractions have for years thrilled children of all ages! At the center of the amusement park is the world-famous Wonder Wheel, a New York City Landmark, which is built in 1920. 
The park features 21 thrilling rides, two arcades, live entertainment, music, Famiglia Pizzeria, and an old-fashioned Sweet Shoppe. And of course, FREE Friday night fireworks and karaoke on the Boardwalk starting in mid-June.

Cyclone Rollercoaster

   Every roller coaster enthusiast around the world has heard of, has ridden or hopes to ride The Cyclone.  This historic roller coaster graces virtually every top roller coaster list and publication. Roller coasters may have gotten bigger and faster, but they have not gotten any better than The Cyclone. 

Coney Island Museum
    Open on Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 5PM. Admission price is $5.

New York Aquarium
    The only aquarium in New York City and part of the largest metropolitan wildlife parks in the country. Regular Prices are as follows: Adults $14.95, Children $10.95, Seniors $11.95. Children under 3 are free!  Tickets to the Shallow Seas 4D attraction are $4 per person.  Fridays are pay-what-you-wish after 3pm!

From the guesthouse you can take the S train to Prospect Park, then transfer to Q train up until the last stop. Have fun!
